Mesh has been seen on celebrities for quite some time now and I’m starting to warm up to the trend. My biggest concern with mesh clothing was there wasn’t enough variety to cover my insecurities. However the more I see mesh the more I like it and the more I want to put it on my body. The craziest part about me falling in love with the trend is it comes at what I considered the most inopportune period in my life. I’ll be five months pregnant this week and one of the trends in my top three list is the mesh trend. (We’ll get to the other trends in a few weeks).
Initially I was turned off the mesh look by Rihanna, not because she didn’t look good, but because of the mesh, it was just mesh and underwear. I could never walk out with my derriere that exposed and on top of that our body types are so different picturing myself in an all mesh dress just seemed scary. Ironically I fell in love with Rihanna’s Dior ad where she made mesh her bitch and I am still having mesh-spasms over Nicki Minaj’s mesh bodysuit she wore to the Tidal concert this year. I’m not afraid to show skin, but I like to be strategic about what I show and I don’t like to show everything all at once. I can’t wait to give you guys doses of my style; however, I am just beginning to feel confident and sexy while pregnant, something I haven’t felt since the summer. So maybe mesh rising so rapidly on my chart is my fashion senses way of trying to make me feel like my old self. This slow but steady confidence boost couldn’t come at a better time, and hopefully it’s through the roof after I give birth. So I’m all for the mesh trend any time of the year as long as you feel comfortable and you wear your mesh your way!
